Media Minds writes production and archive content to LTO tape for long-term, low-cost preservation, typically as a verified two-copy archive held in separate locations. For content you must keep but rarely touch, LTO remains the cheapest storage tier available: no monthly fees, no egress charges, and decades of shelf life.
When tape beats cloud
The cloud is the right home for the content you search for and use. But for the deep archive, camera originals, delivered masters, compliance copies, you pay cloud rates every month for files nobody opens. Written to LTO, that content costs a fraction per terabyte-decade, and retrieving it costs nothing but time. Most media archives need both tiers; the win is knowing which content belongs in each. What we do
We write your content to current-generation LTO with checksum verification on every file, as a two-copy archive by default: two tapes, two locations, so no single event can take your masters with it. Every tape ships with a manifest of its contents, and we offer a retrieval service when you need something back.
